MURDER IN STRETFORD. A 16-year-old lad has been shot dead at the Robin Hood on Barton Road, close to Stretford Mall. Police arrived at the scene late on Sunday after shots were heard. The boy, with head wounds, died a short time later in Trafford General Hospital. Three men age between 18 and 22 have been arrested on suspicion of murder. HAZEL BLEARS, the Salford MP and Cabinet Minister, has claimed that she has done nothing wrong with her expenses, yet the system is ‘wrong’. Thus it’s ok to make £45,000 on a London flat which she was claiming as her ‘second home’ by selling it as her first home and thus avoiding 40% capital gains tax. She said this type of thing had to corrected, presumably so people like her couldn’t get away with such near-fraud. |
GREATER MANCHESTER Integrated Transport Authority (GMITA) is hosting a seminar at 10.30am on 11 May at Manchester Town Hall to discuss future transport plans. This follows the chucking out of the Transport Innovation Fund (aka Congestion Charging) in December 2008, and is open to the public. ROCHDALE, BURY, RONALDO, TEVEZ were all in a tizzy this weekend. Rochdale and Bury both lost out on a place in the League Two play-off final at Wembley. Ronaldo was unhappy about being substituted in a routine 2-0 victory over City. Tevez cupped his ears to the directors of United after scoring indicating they weren’t listening to him over a deal to stay at the club.
