THE FOOTBALL MUSEUM’S RELOCATION may lead Preston City Council to take legal action over the move. The council’s leader said the trustees of the National Football Museum has “stuck two fingers” up at the people of Lancashire by agreeing its move to Manchester. Manchester City Council’s leader, Sir Richard Leese, said he was “disappointed” by Preston Council’s reaction over the museum’s move to Urbis.
BIONIC EYE PROCEDURES AT MANCHESTER’S ROYAL EYE HOSPITAL are helping the blind to see again. Three patients at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital are taking part in a worldwide trial of the revolutionary technology, with one of the patients being able to read short for the first time ever. Researchers at the hospital described the experiences as “very moving”.
