BURGLARS stole sentimental papers from a house in Abbey Hey.
Sometime between 2.30pm on Friday 16 December 2011 and 12.30am on Saturday 17 December 2011, thieves forced the front door of the house and searched all the rooms.
Documents and items relating to the death of a young child were stolen alongside a TV and CD player.
The papers were held in a red 'Wall's Too Good To Be True' ice cream tub.
Now police are appealing for the items to be returned.
Detective Constable Peter Rickards from Longsight Police Station said: "This incident has had a devastating effect on the victim as these personal items are completely irreplaceable.
“I suspect the burglars have no idea how much sentimental value these items hold to the child's mother and I would urge anyone who finds this tub, or the contents, to take it to their nearest police station. The victim is desperate to be reunited with them.”
Anyone with information can phone police on 0161 856 4428 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
