A 48-YEAR-OLD WOMAN has died from a single stab wound in Moss Side. Juliet Edwards was found by emergency services in Great Western Street, Moss Side on Saturday. She was taken to hospital but later died. A 58-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. A 21-year-old was also arrested but was later released. Police are now appealing to anyone who may have information on her death to come forward.
METROLINK HAS LAUNCHED A PHONE APP which allows passengers to track the arrival of their tram. The free, interactive smart phone application was launched by transport chiefs to help passenger plan their journey in advance. The app can now be downloaded onto a smart phone using the iTunes website.
A PENSIONER FROM SALE HAS DIED after being hit by a motorbike in Dane Road, Sale. The elderly woman suffered head and leg injuries and was taken to hospital where she later died. Police are calling for witnesses to come forward with any relevant information.
BANKS HAVE WARNED CUSTOMERS to be wary of cash point fraudulent scams, after a ‘false trapping’ device was discovered fixed to a cash machine. The device was found outside the Co-op in Marple, Stockport when a man became suspicious after trying to use machine and his money failed to come out. He pulled away the front panel to reveal the false slot where his money had been dispensed. The 32-year-old later called the police who alerted banks of the fraudulent scam.
