Man Stabbed In Neck At K2

A MAN has undergone surgery after being stabbed in the neck in Manchester city centre. 

It appears he was an innocent party who has been targeted for no reason whatsoever

Shortly before 2.20am on Saturday 28 January 2012, police were called to K2 on George Street by the North West Ambulance Service. 

Officers attended and discovered a 25-year-old man with a deep wound to his neck. 

He was taken to hospital and has undergone surgery over the weekend. He remains in a stable condition. 

The man has yet to be interviewed but detectives have recovered CCTV of the incident which shows the man, an innocent bystander, being attacked as a group of men rush door staff at the club in an attempt to gain entry. 

The offender (suspected to be pictured in the image on this page) is described as white, in his late teens or early 20s, about 5ft 8in tall and wearing a white hooded top, blue jeans and white trainers. 

Detective Constable Ian Hatfield, said: “The victim has suffered a deep wound to his neck and is fortunate not to be fighting for his life in hospital. 

“We have yet to speak to him to find out what happened, but from viewing the CCTV it appears he was an innocent party who has been targeted for no reason whatsoever. 

“I would urge people to look closely at the CCTV and if you recognise the offender or anyone else in the group trying to force their way into the bar, please come forward.”
