WITH Manchester Pride taking place this Bank Holiday weekend, significant delays are expected on city centre roads and public transport.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is advising travellers and commuters to plan ahead.
The Pride Parade on Saturday will take place from 1pm when a 100-strong float procession travels from the top of Deansgate, through St Anne’s Square, Cross Street, Albert Square, Princess Street, Whitworth Street, finsihing up in the Village.
Some bus services which use Sackville Street and Chorlton Street will be affected all weekend. However, some services will only be affected on Saturday, durinmg the parade.
Services affected all weekend are 67, 219, 219N, 220, 221, X40, X41, X43, X44, Trans Peak and Metroshuttle 1.
Services affected during the parade on Saturday will be 8, 12, 15, 16, 26, 27, 31, 32, 33, 36, 37, 41, 42, 43, 44, 48, 50, 73, 84, 85, 86, 99, 101, 104, 105, 109, 111, 130, 142, 143, 197, 219, 250, 255, 256, 263, X40, X41, X42, X, 43, X50, X57, Terravision A40 and Metroshuttles 1, 2 and 3.
Information will be available at affected stops around the city centre.
Metrolink will be running its usual timetable over the Bank Holiday weekend, with trams running a Sunday timetable on the Bank Holiday Monday.

Also, First TransPennine Express rail services will not be operating on Friday due to industrial action. Staffs of the rail company, which operates between Manchester and other northern towns, are striking due to disputes over pay.
Meanwhile, thousands of people took advantage of free Metrolink travel last Sunday. More than 2,000 people downloaded free Metrolink vouchers from the TfGM website.
