Win tickets for Swing Out Sister

Stars of Eighties sophisto-pop Swing Out Sister are playing at Band on the Wall

Date Published: 04/02/2010

Big in the Eighties and more recently, big in Japan, Manchester's very own Swing Out Sister might have dropped out of the UK singles chart, but they've not stopped making music.

Hits like 'Break Out' and 'Surrender' and the killer haircut of singer Corinne Drewery brought them huge success back in the day. Since then, they've been focusing on their massive fanbase in Japan, while quietly releasing some superb albums over here. Their 2008 release Beautiful Mess got good reviews from the music press – fans of Texas and Duffy will find plenty to like.

At Band on the Wall on Monday 22 February and Tuesday 23 February, you can experience their soulful, jazz-pop and Corinne's fantastic voice first hand. This two night residency will bring them back to the city where it all began – Corinne Drewery and Andy Connell met after a chance encounter at the Hacienda.

To be in with a chance of winning one of two pairs of tickets for the Tuesday night concert click the button below.

Tickets cost £16.50 – go to www.bandonthe wall.org
