Win A Bottle Of Rum At The Liars Club

WHERE once there stood the morally-ambiguous Purple Pussycat, there's now a fully debauched tiki bar.

The Liars Club opened on Back Bridge Street off Deansgate last year to general approval from the cocktail-drinking crowd. Not least because it's a 'Caribbean-style rum shop' as well as a tiki bar, meaning you don't have to limit yourself to shots or doubles. You can buy a quart, a half, or a full bottle of rum – the bartenders will mix it into whatever concoction you choose with the help of unlimited mixers. With over 100 different rums to choose from, you could make this into a serious hobby.

4Ci3_OCocktail-wise, they do tiki classics like the Zombie and the Mai Tai, as well as their own elaborate creations such as the super-strong Fog Cutter (Bacardi Superior, Bombay Sapphire and apricot brandy) which comes with the warning 'It may induce blindness'. Or try the less extreme but very spicy Bloody Pirate (a Bloody Mary but with rum).

Drinks are typically served in pineapples, coconut shells, and elaborate Tiki volcanoes. The Polynesian-inspired décor is equally kitsch. Bamboo, sunsets, waterfalls, fish. If you can't afford a holiday abroad this year, put your Hawaiian shorts on and catch a cab here instead.

In this competition, you can win a bottle of rum at The Liars Club. To enter, just click the red button above.
