MANCHESTER does libraries better than any other UK city.
This tour will make your jaw drop with the glory of the buildings, the glory of the collections and the entertaining stories that go with them.
Confidential editor, Jonathan Schofield, will be visiting John Rylands Library, the Portico Library and Chetham's Library - the latter is the oldest complete building in Manchester dating from the 1420s.
Three libraries, three different atmospheres, six centuries of development, millennia of literature, and the biggest personalities.
Meet outside John Rylands Library, Deansgate, 1pm on Thursday 15 September. Price £6. To book email jgschofield@btinternet.com or call 07876235638.

I'd love to go, but I'm on holiday, any chance of a repeat of this another day?
..... on a weekend? Would love to go to this.
I would assume that it is difficult to get the permissions from them for the weekend (I think Portico and Chetham's may be usually closed in weekend)...
Anon, you're right
I love their toilets...
How much time will be spent in each library?
About twenty minutes Howard.
