HUNDREDS are expected to attend The Last Day of Summer Festival MCR 2011, and not surprisingly it’s the last summer festival in Manchester this year.
From the people who brought you Eurocultured Street Party, the one day festival will take place at Castlefield Basin on Saturday 24 September, 1pm–11pm.
The day’s purpose is to recognise Manchester’s art and music culture through live music, art installations, live art and graffiti workshops and an international break dancing competition.
Non musicians and artists can also get involved by visiting the secret cinema, getting photographed with giant puppets or decorating parts of the site. There's also a mini market with the array of food and drink available.
Dub Pistols (pictured), The Quangos and The Minx are set to entertain festival goers on the main stage, with a separate acoustic and DJ stage. Over twenty bands are expected to play on the day, not including the yet – to – be – confirmed headliner.
Limited earlybird tickets are priced at £8 each and will increase to £11 each after. Tickets can be bought now online at www.skiddle.com or in person at either of the following:
Gaffs, Fallowfield; Font, Fallowfield; Videoscene, Withington; Londis, Rusholme; Piccadilly Records, City.
