The North Pole bar returns to its original home outside Urbis in Cathedral Gardens from Thursday 4 November - and we've got ten pairs of tickets for the VIP launch party on Wednesday night to give away to Heroes.
The pop-up bar is the baby of Ear to the Ground (the team behind Parklife and DPercussion and the production team behind The Warehouse Project and Snowbombing).
This year's pop-up wonderland comes complete with all the North Pole bar favourites - warming winter cocktails, good food, and great music.
But there's been a few changes too. It's three times the size of last year's North Pole - new additions include a luxurious snug furnished with Chesterfield sofas and vintage rugs. The food's different as well. Local heroes Tampopo will be serving winter pan-Asian goodies to hungry shoppers and the après-work crowd. And there'll be a bounty of sweet treats, candy canes and cookies to satisfy the sweet-toothed.
The winter cocktail menu makes a welcome return - hot toddies will include the Classic Winter Crumble and Manchester’s Mulled Wine. Kids can have hot Vimto - or get a taste of being a grown up and have a non-alcoholic cocktail. Or there's all the normal drinks - beer, coffee, wine, spirits and so on.
A programme of winter frolics will be announced soon. Watch out for carol singers, brass bands, silent discos, singing with your supper, acoustic sets by Manchester bands and much more - all with a quirky North Pole slant.
The pop-up bar is the baby of Ear to the Ground (the team behind Parklife and DPercussion and the production team behind The Warehouse Project and Snowbombing). In 2008 and 2009, 100,000 people went to North Pole. Its return officially marks the start of party season in Manchester. We can smell the mulled wine from here...
