An evening with Michael Caines

Michael Caines, the executive chef behind the excellent restaurants at the Abode hotels, has long been known in these parts as one to watch. But recently his acclaim level has gone up several notches. Earlier this year, he was named number one restaurateur in the UK in the Sunday Times Food List, in recognition of what he does down at Gidleigh Park in Devon.

At an exclusive event on 3 May, you can feast on his cooking for yourself in Manchester. For one night only, he'll take the helm at the Michael Caines restaurant at ABode hotel, Piccadilly, creating a four-course, wine-matched menu that should having you swooning with delight.

After canapes and a glass of Michael Caines Blanc de Blanc, you'll enjoy Terrine of rabbit, lentils, and wholegrain mustard vinaigrette, followed by Slow poached mackerel with gooseberries.

The main course will be Best end of lamb with smoked aubergine puree, tomato, olive, roast garlic and lamb split jus. The dessert will be Vanilla mousse, poached nectarine, and blackcurrant sorbet. Coffee and petit fours will finish off the evening.

All the courses will be served with a matching wine, specially selected by Michael to complement his food. To see the full menu, including details of the wines, please click here.

Michael will be around to chat to guests when he gets a minute free from his kitchen duties.

The event takes place on the evening of Tuesday 3 May at Abode Manchester. Tickets cost £90.
