Wine-matched Dinner At Sam's Chophouse

WE'VE got details of a very special wine tasting and dinner to be held at Sam's Chophouse on Tuesday 13 September.

Rz4p9e0uvgbvoGeorge Bergier, the chairman of the Guild of Sommeliers, will be selecting a wine for each of the five delectable courses, and he'll lead the wine-tasting on the night.

The wines are yet to be announced (these decisions can't be rushed) but given the pedigree of the chap choosing them, it's safe to say that they will be first-class.

The food looks exciting enough in its own right; a rich, seasonal feast that will perfectly suit the Victorian-styled chophouse. You'll be greeted with canapés before being seated for a five course dinner with a palette cleanser in there too. Have a look at the menu:

Canapés
Savoury cheese pastry with cream cheese and chives

Smoked Scottish salmon with horseradish and dill

Scotch quail egg with English mustard mayonnaise

Starter

1337577_56522667Home-made roasted butternut squash soup finished with cumin butter

Oven-roasted rack of Pennine Hills lamb & twice cooked lamb breast, served pink, with minted potato, sugar snap peas and finished with lamb jus

Sam’s home-made lager and lime sorbet

The dinner takes place on Tuesday 13 September at Sam's Chophouse, Chapel Walks, Manchester city centre.

It looks set to be an extraordinary dining experience. Tickets cost £45 including canapés,  five courses and five wines. There are only 20 places available so please book promptly to avoid disappointment.
