Here's a Valentine's Day idea for food-loving lovers. The Second Floor Restaurant at Harvey Nichols will be serving a five-course gourmet tasting menu which can be booked alongside a champagne package for the big wheel. If you want to sweep someone off their feet, this should do the trick.
The tasting menu, which will be created by Harvey Nichol's head chef Stuart Thomson, looks like a winner. It will feature:
Compression of Goosnargh duck, spiced dates, golden raisins
Cured halibut, soused mackerel, potato salad
Morcambe brill, young leeks, bacon foam
Slow cooked Cheshire beef, truffle mashed potato, shallot purée
Roasted peanut parfait with rice crispy crunch & Guanaja chocolate
Many people think the Second Floor Restaurant is one of the best-looking venues in Manchester. With ceiling to floor windows giving a fantastic view of the city at night and a sophisticated ambiance, it's perfect for a special occasion.
And if you want to make a real night of it, you can book the Valentine's package for the wheel, which includes two tickets and half a bottle of Harvey Nichols Rose Champagne. Take your trip on the wheel before your meal, or save it as a surprise treat for after you've dined.
The tasting menu costs £50 per person and there's a vegetarian version available on request. The champagne package for the Wheel of Manchester costs £22 for two. They are both available on the evenings of Saturday 13 February and Sunday 14 February.
