Leckenby's Champagne And Tea Rooms Opened

LECKENBY's is due to open later this week.

Here's a sneak preview of the King Street West opening.

It feels like the place is going to be a North Western variant on Patisserie Valerie but hopefully with better queue management.

It's got a perfect location too, opposite San Carlo, just down from Cicchetti and House of Fraser.

The original Leckenby’s is from Bury and is 12-years-old.

It will cater for breakfast, lunch and dinner and include Champagne afternoon tea.

There’s also an ice cream bar, with flavours developed by local ice cream makers Cheshire Farm Ice Cream. The prestigious Slattery’s of Whitefield is also involved and their decorated, tasty cakes will be a feature within Leckenby’s.

The tea room has been brought to the city by the Prestwich based Hymanson family; Mike, Sherry, Barry and Howard, who have franchised the Manchester venue based on the success of the original Bury Leckenby’s offering, formerly known as Chocoholics. Together they have invested in the design and development of Leckenby’s as well as creating more than 30 jobs.

That full English doesn't look up to much? Sausage? Black pudding? Fried or poached? It'll have to go some to stand up to Chicchetti....

Personally if I wanted a good brekkie I would go to a deli. This shop does cakes and tea and it does them well! Deffo will be going back :)

No, Kevin, bet you can't. Funny is it not, you pop up on here when a new place opens or a new exhibition starts but stay oh so quiet about car parking charges or revenue

Isabella, you can be a bit aggressive can't you?

Stop posting comments as different 'Anonymous' people six minutes apart or we will out you.

Especially posts praising yourself, although I am sure you are a wonderful waiter.

Keep clear if you are vegetarian. I booked champagne tea and advised 2 days before that I was vegetarian. Best they could come up with was a tomota sandwich and a cucumer one. Nothing else on it. I paid £19 for it and they were not interested when I complained. Awful I am afraid. Looks good but nothing behind it

Keep clear if you are vegetarian. paid £19 for champagne afternoon tea and advised 2 days before I was vegetarian. First the waitress asked if I eat tuna fish then brough tomato sandwiches and cucumber ones. Nothing else on it. I complained but they were not interested. Awful. Looks good when you walk past so just keep walking!!!
