Win a pair of Lara Bohinc boots worth £540
Her fans include SJP, Posh and Cheryl Cole. Now you can own your very own Lara Bohinc peep-toe boots
Date Published: 01/02/2010
She’s made a name for herself among the rich and famous designing exquisite jewellery designs and beautiful bag collections as seen on the likes of Anna Friel, Cheryl Cole, Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker and Isla Fisher. Slovenian born Lara Bohinc’s architectural jewellery pieces have been making waves in the fashion world since she won a Marks & Spencer New Generation Design Award in 1997 and it was from there that she successfully launched her own company. Keen to expand her accessories range to include footwear, Lara launched her first two shoe collections at the end of last year.
Both the shoes and boots epitomise style and sophistication and unlike many other designer brands, Lara’s pieces are timeless.
It’s another string to add to her Lara Bohinc bow. In addition to her many achievements in the fashion world, Lara has served as design consultant to Cartier for the last nine years and has worked with many top names including Gucci, Lanvin and Julien McDonald.
She said: “I’ve always loved shoes and have dreamt about wearing my own designs for years. My business partner Ernst Malmsten thought that the global recession provided the ideal opportunity to expand our product ranges and accelerate our growth. In these times of doom and gloom people want something more special than ever.”
The Eclipse shoe collection consists of three styles that are inspired by the signature Lunar Eclipse bag. The Seventh Seal Show collection corresponds to the Seventh Seal bag and jewellery collection.
Both the shoes and boots epitomise style and sophistication and unlike many other designer brands, Lara’s pieces are timeless.
Confidential had the pleasure of meeting Lara Bohinc and her team for the launch of her shoe collection at Harvey Nichols in Manchester last December. Speaking about her first trip up North in her Vogue blog, Lara said: “I have to admit that as a non-English-born person I have a slight fear of leaving the familiar confines of Greater London. But surprise surprise, the city looked very pretty once we drove in, not at all as I imagined it to be. The girls there know their fashion like their ABCs. They are groomed, they are glamorous and they like to shop. One of the personal shoppers told me that he sold only one pair of flats this season. The higher the better in Manchester.
Apparently no one goes to town in flats, let alone to an evening out. And I was told that Liverpool and Sheffield are the same. I wonder how comes that the North of England is more glamorous than the South… Is there something in the water? I feel my fear dispersing…”
Having developed a love for the glamour of Manchester, Lara is offering one reader a pair of her stunning, high-heeled Crusade shoe-boots in whichever size required. The design features Y-shaped chainmail and the same thonging details as the Crusade bag. These boots are available at Harvey Nichols in both Manchester and Leeds priced at £540. If you’d like to be in with a chance of winning the pair, click below to enter the competition.
This competition is now closed, congratulations to the winner Donna Mulcahey.
