North West Young Designer of the Year
Are you the next Henry Holland or Matthew Williamson?
Date Published: 29/07/2010 11:31:07
The search is on to find the North West Young Designer of the Year. Now in its third year, the competition once again invites budding designers aged 17-25, to enter. Entrants must be dedicated enough to their designs and burgeoning career to win the competition’s top prizes- a photo shoot featuring their winning designs in a Manchester lifestyle magazine and the chance to have their collection on display in the Triangle Shopping Centre.
Last year’s competition saw North West graduate fashion designer, Asha Modi, receive critical acclaim for her collection. Her winning designs were a range of sophisticated women's clothing in a neutral palette with splashes of colour. The collection went on to be sold in Unique Boutique in the Triangle.
This year’s competition will once again be judged by a panel of influential fashion faces, from all facets of the North West fashion forum and beyond. The ten finalists will be selected based on the style, individuality and quality of their designs. They will then be invited to the Grand Final Fashion Show at the Triangle on Tuesday 19 October 2010, where their collections will be given the catwalk treatment by professional models.
To be in with a chance of winning this career-boosting opportunity, budding designers must send in designs from their most creative collections. These should be accompanied by 300 words stating why they feel that their collection shows that they are the most innovative young designer the North West has to offer. The deadline for all entries is Friday August 6 2010.
Aspiring designers should send drawings of their collections and 300 words detailing why they should become the Young Designer of the Year to:
