For the kind of steak that inspires cravings, yearnings and giddy anticipation, many people swear by Gaucho. They're the Kings of Cow in the city centre and there's very little that their chefs couldn't tell you about getting the best out of beef.
It would be an act of cruelty to end the night without letting you get your teeth into the four prime cuts of beef you've watched being prepared.
So we've asked them to put on a special Beef Masterclass for Manchester Confidential Heroes. It'll start with a glass of champagne with samplers of empanada and ceviche (stuffed pastries and a South American seafood speciality) before you get down to the business of learning about beef from Gaucho's head chef.
You'll be served a selection of breads and chimmi churri to nibble as he teaches you about Argentine culture, the craft behind Gaucho's cooking, and the key qualities of beef produce. Then he'll demonstrate how to prepare each of the prime cuts – sirloin, rib eye, fillet and rump – revealing Gaucho’s unique methods of cutting, marinating, grilling and cooking.
It would be an act of cruelty to end the night without letting you get your teeth into the four cuts of beef you've watched being prepared – they'll be presented on a sharing platter with a selection of sides.
Finally you'll be served a delectable trio of desserts – dulce de leche cheesecake, lime pie, and chocolate cake. A sweet end to a meaty night.
The Beef Masterclass takes place on Tuesday 21 September at Gaucho, St Mary's Street, city centre from 6pm-9pm.
