Acting Cityco head moves to Bruntwood
Kate Harrison heads to property giant as Marketing Director
Date Published: 24/11/2009
Confidential liked Kate Harrison where she was. At Cityco as the Chief Executive. Now she’s upped sticks and moved to Bruntwood. We like Bruntwood too, but Harrison was good where she was.
Having worked at the airport she re-acquainted herself with the city centre by having right good chat with lots of people in lots of different sectors including Confidential.
For those who don’t know, Cityco is the city centre management company and when Harrison started her interim role, she started in the right way. Having worked at the airport she re-acquainted herself with the city centre by having right good chat with lots of people in lots of different sectors including Confidential.
She did this because she wanted to learn what people thought of the big and little issues in the city centre. For such a complex place it was the sensible thing to do. Confidential hope sincerely that the new Chief Exec of Cityco, to be announced in the coming weeks, will be just as diligent.
Meanwhile Harrison will become the new Marketing Director of Bruntwood, heading up its brand development and marketing programme.
Bruntwood has of course, huge commercial property interests in Manchester, Liverpool, and Leeds, and has recently been expanding in other cities, including Birmingham. In all there are 90 buildings in the portfolio, including several landmarks such as City Tower, Piccadilly, where the company is based. According to the company they’ve come through the economic downturn with a strong financial base, and plans further growth in the coming years. It’s to help guide them through this growth that Harrison has been invited in.
Harrison, commenting on her new role said: "Bruntwood is a very well-respected Manchester company. I'm excited by the company's ambitious aspirations for the future and look forward to developing the Bruntwood brand further. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Cityco and now we’re in the later stages of appointing a permanent chief executive, the time is right to move on to a new challenge."
Confidential wishes her luck.
