Regus' Business booster event

Local firms gather to discuss business in the city

Date Published: 23/10/2009

Earlier this month, around 60 people from a cross section of local businesses including marketing, finance, PR and consultancy firms attended the Regus Business Booster event.

Lord Mayor opened with a speech about business in Manchester and the history of city followed by presentations from the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Chartered institute of Marketing among others.

One presentation raised the issue of the use and importance of social media and in business and the successes of blog sites and social networking sites such as Twitter. It addressed the importance of engaging in debates on social forums and how using social media effectively can lead to referral business.

Other topical issues were partnership working and strategic alliances- the importance of this in tough economic climate, how small businesses can (and should) work together as well as information provided on how to access help and support (including financial help) from organisations such as Chamber, CIM etc.

Regus also gave all attendees a Businessworld Gold Card entitling them to some free member benefits and a £300 voucher to use against office products.
