Sleuth’s Poem On The Reformation Of The Stone Roses

Sleuth wants to be ignored

Published on October 19th 2011.

Sleuth’s Poem On The Reformation Of The Stone Roses

I am the resurrection and I am the light

I wouldn’t ever sing in tune even though I might.

But sometimes I fantasise

When the streets are cold and lonely

And we're nearly out of money.

That I don’t have to sell out Heaton Park

It’s already indie

I don’t have to sell out Heaton Park

It’s already windy

I wanna be on tour.

When your heart is black and broken

And you need a helping a hand,

Then its time to re-start the band.

Sleuth would like to leave the country

For a month of Sundays,

Go back to 1989 again with the Roses and the Mondays.

Sleuth has narrowly missed out of the position of Poet Laureate several times. On the last occasion when the charlatan Carol Ann-Duffy stole the Poet Laureate position from under Sleuth’s nose, he was commended by the judges as , “Quite remarkable syntax and phrasing. This man is truly the worst poet ever.” (They were right, Ed).
