THOUSANDS of people loved this weekend's N4 Loves U Festival. This was part of the general I Love MCR campaign - an initiative created in response to the riots on 9 August.
Thirty acts including a host of DJs and bands including Kid British, Travelling Band, Luke Unabomber, Cherry Ghost and The Paris Riots entertain festival goers via an acoustic stage, an Indie stage and a DJ stage. A N4 Loves U market run by Manchester Food and Drink Festival in association with Afflecks offered a delightful range of concessions from food and drink to vintage clothing.
Some people obviously didn't quite understand the motivation behind the celebrations though.
Maybe city life isn't really for them.
Spoilsports - but the banners hanging out of the window here did make Sleuth giggle.
Sleuth is a sideways glance at the city every week, it's the truth, but Sleuth's truth. We give £25 for every story/rumour and piece of absurdity you find for us to print. Sleuth sometimes even gets serious. We ask for the money back if any legal action follows. Follow Sleuth on twitter @Sleuth

No credit Mr. Schofield? :-)
Andy, should have asked if you wanted it. But this comes from Sleuth not me. Still and all, dear readers, this story was given to Sleuth by ANDY LOYNES, general good egg and purveyor of snippets.
Ahh well spotted Andy. Honestly it's once a year too! And Hi Jonathan, long time no speak.
Are you both going to the Ramsbottom Festival? Where they are also featuring some of these fine bands?
Might do Ms. Fielding, might do. Are you stalking me?
Oh no, don't tell me the riots are going to be an annual thing.....;)
Ah, bless you Jonathan :-)
@ PO - LOL and I certainly hope not!
but the noise level will rise year by year.
So Sleuth and Nicola hate city centre residents.... well I always thought so.. all 12000 of us which does not include the working class who live in the bit of the NQ which is in but not of the City Centre
Lets turn the place into a giant Printworks
"the bit of the NQ which is in but not of the City Centre"
come again?
James, I think these residents were being a bit tongue in cheek. If not it backfired as very many of us noisy revellers took pictures with a smile. Lapped it up. Printworks? Excuse me? NQ has character, a character defined precisely by events such as this.
Ermmm Hi James I actually live on Thomas Street so I am a resident. The festival was superbly organised and there was a meeting before the festival for all residents to raise concerns and have their say. It's a one off event and it finsihed at 9pm. I'm sure even you would not be in bed by that hour. And yes I am working class and there's nothing wrong with that. Do you work for a living? Then you too are also working class. NQ has nothing about it that represents the Printworks. And it is also a very popular and characteristic place of the city centre. I hate people like you James. Also your grammar is terrible.
