Tonight is the big one – the Manchester derby. Sir Alex claims it’s the biggest game between the two sides in recent history due to the recent wealth of their cross-city rivals. Roberto Mancini claims neither side will win the league and are actually locked in a battle for second place behind Chelsea.
Confidential office gofer Smudge Jones relives his top five United derby moments; Chris Barry, editor of thebusinessdesk.com and die-hard Blue, picks his favourite five.
Beckham free-kick to win 1-0
I remember taping this on VHS so I could play the goal down the phone to all of my City friends the day after. This was something I stopped doing when a bigger lad said he would punch me in the face if I carried on doing it. A couple of years later City fans took revenge by playing Shaun Goater goals into my answer machine.

Revenge for the 5-1
I remember this best because I was still a kid at the time. After going 2-0 down, my city supporting granddad went for a walk around the park to ‘clear his head’. When he came back to find out it ended 5-0, he was completely and utterly devastated. Cantona at his best.

Michael Owen in the 96th minute
A brilliant end to probably the most entertaining derby ever. This led to City fans all over the land to once again cry about Fergie time after losing in stoppage time for the first of three times that season. They always seem to forget that both teams are allowed to score in Fergie time.

Score prediction: 2-1 City win. Without Rooney, they’re not the same team. Going to be really tense, but I’ll go for a narrow victory.
