February On The River
Up for the Best Hotel Restaurant category in the EatDrinkSleep Awards 2017, the River Restaurant at The Lowry Hotel has some exciting dishes new for February, and some very special offers. Both the à la carte and Chef's Choice three-course set menus change monthly, sourcing the best regional and seasonal produce. Stars for the shortest month include breast of mutton alongside haggis bon bon, sustainable Norwegian Skrei cod on saffron kohlrabi and velouté, and salt-baked celeriac teamed with wild mushrooms and walnuts.
Mulled Martini – Usually £24.95 per person, in February, two people can enjoy the three-course Chef's Choice menu plus two glasses of Prosecco or selected red or white wine for just £39 per couple (plus £20 if you fancy the rest of the bottle).
Sunday Lunch – With meats sourced from some of the UK's best suppliers, including beef from the Duke of Buccleuch Estates and chicken from Goosnargh, the River Restaurant is famed for its Sunday roast, and at the moment you can see why for just £36 per couple eating two courses and a glass of Prosecco.
Afternoon Tea – From noon every day, relax with a river view and a finger-licking afternoon tea of sandwiches, pastries and fancies, and scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserve, washed down with teas, infusions and a glass of Prosecco, all – for this month only – for just £39 for two (usually £66 with a glass of fizz).
